Overwhelmed

"It is not the design of heaven that we be rescued from all difficult situations. Rather, it is the Lord’s will that we learn to handle them.

"The sense of being overwhelmed is very much a part of the journey...As we accept our lot and move forward with what the Lord has asked of us, we discover that we enjoy the company of the Holy Ghost, angels feel constrained to join us, and the heavens open to our vision.

"As you seek direction, the Holy Ghost will lead you far beyond your own thoughts and mark a course that reaches beyond that which you can see even by the light of day."

--Joseph Fielding McConkie, "Finding Answers", Ensign, Feb. 2011, 28–32

This is reassuring to me.  Because I feel so overwhelmed so very often.  Now I know this is normal.  And it brings me great comfort to know that I am not doing something wrong when I feel so overwhelmed.  I am not alone either.  I am sure a great percentage of the world's population feels the same way to some extent.

So I will stop pitying myself for feeling so overwhelmed....And start doing something about it!  I will start accepting my lot, moving forward, and learning how to handle the situations I am placed in with the help of the Holy Ghost, angels, and revelation from heaven....

It's kind of exciting to begin a new journey. I hope it's a fruitful one. And come what may, I know the path will be a happy one....if I can stick with it long enough to make a habit of it.
